Inside the Most Romantic Hotel in Paris 2019

Ah, Paris—is there anything unromantic about this city? That said, nothing ruins an amorous getaway quite like a lesser-than hotel experience. Enter Le Bristol: With its rooftop pool, lush inner garden, and celebrated dining, it's little wonder why our readers rated this circa-1925 stunner the City of Light's most romantic hideaway.

Each of the 190 rooms at Le Bristol is worth a stay—but it's the Junior suites we covet most when we make the trip. Furnished with Louis XV- and Louis XVI-period pieces, old master paintings, and tall, wide windows, the airy set-up means there's plenty of space for you and yours in your downtime. Book one with a view of the lush interior courtyard.

Speaking of the courtyard: The one at Le Bristol is a beauty, framed by colonnades and speckled with white parasols and garden tables. Start your morning there with a cappuccino, in full view of the rose bushes, then return after a spell on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore for a late lunch (and maybe a catnap in the sun).

Nothing says romance quite like a three-Michelin-starred meal at Epicure. Under the stewardship of chef Eric Frechon, a simple Valentine's Day dinner becomes an elegant, six-course gastronomic experience. Of special note are the artichoke soup with pan-seared foie gras and black truffle emulsion, and the baked Alaska flambéed with Grand Marnier.

Another necessary indulgence? An 85-minute caviar massage at the acclaimed La Prairie spa. Though there are just eight treatment rooms, you'll want to upgrade to the private couples' suite if you want to stick together. When you've wrapped that up, try out the high-heat Russian Banïya—love is also about being adventurous, right?

Le Bristol's indoor rooftop pool is something of a hidden treasure—and the views over Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower make it doubly so. Head up for an early morning swim, when the light is at its best, or a late-night splash when you can take in the twinkling of the world's most famous landmark. It's nice to know that, even if you never set foot outside the hotel, it still offers plenty of ways for the two of you to experience this magical city together.
